Seduced by the thought of endless summers and the carefree ease of holidays by the beach, Anna & Boy have provided an exciting and refreshing take on designer swimwear for both men and women.

Strongly influenced by the liberated memories of childhood such as beach house wallpapers, seventies surf films and yellowed photographs that wistfully capture that time, Anna & Boy’s Spring Summer 08/09 is an exciting range. The collection promises a fresh, contemporary and notably different aesthetic. Most of all it’s a collection which defines the duo’s inimitable sense of style and distinct essence of cool.

Anna believes in the aquatic theory of man’s origin because it perfectly explains her unusual love of water and fascination with sea life. Designing swimwear and resort wear is just a “full circle” thing for her – a perfect culmination where everything that she loves comes together. Beauty is what she is addicted to and beauty is what she wants to create.

While vacationing in St. Barth’s in 2005 Haverhill Leach found her calling when she noticed a significant void in the contemporary swimwear market: “I wanted to make a swimwear collection that is beautiful and sophisticated as a woman’s favorite garment.” Haverhill Swimwear is constructed only of the highest quality Italian fabrics in rich trendsetting palettes and original prints. Haverhill is inspired by antique textiles of exotic locales like Asia and Africa, infused with the vintage and unabashedly feminine designs of the 40’s and 50’s. She prefers the idea of tailoring the suits and manipulating the fabric with pin tuck detailing, raw edged ruffles or twists as opposed to using modern day embellishments or hardware. With these inspirations combined with her technical knowledge artistic flair, and a concern for what makes women feel pretty, the finished product is a designer swimwear collection that is comfortable, luxurious, artful, and most importantly flattering.

The line is inspired by the savoir vivre of women with great style who enjoy the life by the sea. “The idea was to create bikinis and one-piece suits for a woman who wants to look beautiful and stylish, but also feel comfortable when she is relaxing in the sun or refreshing in the water”, explains the now designer. The cut is more generous and comfortable than the typical Brazilian bikini, but it still has a touch of sexiness and is wearable by different kinds of women. Most of the bottoms have a low and straight waistline and the tops come from the basic triangle to the more sophisticated knot on the neckline. With precious details like the rhinestone buckle, the metal hoops, the hanging boogies, the laced finish, the styles are unique and charming and are turning out to be a must have item in the nice girls beach bag. The line also has a range of tunics and kaftans made with vintage fabrics, crochet and embroidered bags and other kinds of beach accessories.

The 2009 collection was inspired by the style and spirit of the 50's and 60's French Riviera.
